"(...) Depois de um interregno de alguns anos
entre este disco e “The Angel, the Demon and the Machine” os The Temple voltaram
à carga com 14 faixas novas onde a palavra de ordem é profissionalismo. E é essa
atitude que os eleva a milhas de distancia do resto da maralha de bandas Punk ou
Metal que ainda acreditam que uma atitude puramente underground os vai levar a
algum lado. O som é bom, bastante definido e com uma enorme pujança. Tudo é
perfeito mas não em demasia. Tudo em conta, tudo em medida.
As músicas aparecem com uma construção soberba. “Millionare” vai arrancar-vos a
cabeça logo a abrir, “Babyhate” descarrega uma dose de misantropia “groovada”
nas nossas sinapses, “Fightbull” mostra-nos a uma descarga de raiva controlada
num circo de grotesco e de sangue pulsante, “Devil´s lover” mostra-nos Fernando
Ribeiro (dos Moonspell) e o vocalista João Luis em despique enquanto um pulso de
guitarra volteia sobre as nossas cabeças. “Falling” apresenta o lado mais
atmosférico da banda com a voz diluída entre o acordeão e a guitarra
portuguesa... Pfff... A construção é soberba E esmagadora.
Em suma: Este é o melhor álbum de Rock underground nacional desde “Irreligious”.

"On en reçoit peu… trop peu ! On en connaît peu…
trop peu…Mais de quoi suis je en train de parler ? Des productions portugaises
!!! Pays trop peu exposé médiatiquement et qui pourtant regorge de groupes de
superbes factures, mais exepté Moonspell, combien en connaissons nous ?
The Temple va à coups surs renverser la tendance dans les années à venir à la
vue de la qualité de ce disque. Diesel dog sound compile et mixe les influences
des musiciens soit le neo à l'américaine, l'emo/hard core flirtant parfois sur
le territoire de Boy sets fire ou tout simplement le rock de haute volée grâce à
ses mélodies imparables. 14 titres de grande qualité, 14 titres qui donnent
envie de bouger et de taper du pied comme un forcené, 14 titres à écouter
absolument ! Les portugais, sans réellement révolutionner le genre, ont trouvé
ici une formule fort agréable bien douce à nos oreilles… A noter également la
présence du grand Fernando Ribeiro de Moonspell sur " Devils lover ". Fort à
parier que ce coup de semonce sonore augure du meilleur pour le futur…
Il y a des chroniques comme celle ci pour lesquelles il est difficile de trouver
les mots, j'ai adoré ce disque mais j'ai bien du mal à exprimer mes sentiments à
son écoute, le Cd va bientôt être tout usé tellement il tourne ! Je n'ai qu'un

merecidamente, os portugueses “The Temple”, surgidos em 1993, atingiram o
reconhecimento devido quer em terras lusas quer além fronteiras. Felizmente
estão mesmo a “dar cartas” com “uma sonoridade rock, com uma atitude punk e um

"MILLIONAIRE ist ein gutes Beispiel dafür wie
sich die Band anhört und gehört zu den besten im Album.
Ausserdem gefallen mir PAPER CHAINS und BANKRUPT sehr gut, wobei ich sagen muss,
dass kein Track ein Durchhänger ist!!
In PAPER CHAINS überraschen die Jungs, nach den harten Strophen und Refrains, in
der Bridge bei der sie mit einer portugiesischen Gitarre FADO spielen!
Ausserdem haben sie noch 3 "Kurz"-Tracks: DDS (Diesel Dog Sound), 7 Min. And
Life, Drum
DDS finde ich sehr cool, aber die andern zwei gefallen mir nicht sehr gut. Wenn
man aber das ganze Album durchhört passen diese Tracks bestens rein und man kann
gar nicht mehr über diese motzen!!
Die Jungs überzeugen in jedem Track mit Einfallsreichtum, geilen Riffs und
wütendem und aggressiven Sänger, der singt/schreit wie es sich gehört!
Auch für Gastauftritte wurde gesorgt, unter anderen Fernando Ribeiro von
MOONSPELL!!
Ungewöhlich ist bei dieser Band, dass der Drumer Rui Alexandre der Songwriter
ist... Super-Typ ;)!!
Für alle die ein cooles, hartes und zeitloses Album suchen, sind mit diesem
Album sehr gut ausgedient!! Meiner Meinung nach das Album des Jahres 2004!!!" -

"Se houve alguma banda nacional que se destacou
internacionalmente no passado ano de 2004, foram certamente os The Temple, com a
edição deste Diesel Dog Sound e distribuição mundial assegurada pela inglesa
Copro Records conseguiram excelentes críticas um pouco por todo o lado, por cá a
edição é assegurada pela Raging Planet e as reacções não foram diferentes.
Se muitos apontam este álbum como um dos melhores álbuns de metal composto por
bandas portuguesas, eu diria que apenas os Moonspell alguma vez conseguiram uma
sonoridade tão poderosa.
E se os Moonspell sempre nos brindaram com criatividade, os The Temple não ficam
atrás, prova disso é a inclusão do acordeão e da guitarra portuguesa,
instrumentos aparentemente pouco prováveis para o estilo mas que resultam na
perfeição dentro da grande variedade sonora que compõe todo o cd.
E o que há a dizer quando ouvimos o 1º single intitulado «Millionaire»?
Simplesmente perfeito, e não se ficam por aqui, cada uma das 15 faixas que
compõem o álbum são uma enciclopédia musical que mostram bem o percurso desta
banda que comemora já 12 anos de existência.
De realçar o tema «Falling» onde a guitarra portuguesa e o acordeão da
responsabilidade de Ricardo Pereira conseguem mostrar que esta banda não se
restringe aos cânones da música pesada. E porque não também a presença de dois
grandes nomes da musica nacional, Zé Pedro dos Xutos em «Baby Hate» (2º single),
e Fernando Ribeiro dos Moonspell em «Devil’s Lover».
Nas palavras da banda «Amizade, dedicação e persistência são parte do
combustível que faz mover a máquina.» E que máquina…" -

No se expresar con palabras la cara que se me
quedo al escuchar el nuevo disco de los portugueses the temple.
Hace un tiempo ya comente su anterior trabajo DEMOnio el cual me dejo gratamente
sorprendido a pesar de su brevedad en la que jugaban con el post hardcore, el
punk,…
Pues bien, desconozco el porque pero la banda ha cambiado radicalmente su sonido,
si bien antes eran mas encasillables por su sonido como una banda bastante
underground, ahora la banda ha sacado un discazo con tintes mas comerciales pero
de esos que quitan el hipo. Para este nuevo trabajo, diesel dog sound, la banda
ha buscando un sonido entre el metal de disturbed, korn, deftones, spineshank ….
En esa línea pero sin parecerse en absoluto a ninguno de ellos y con matices
mucho mas roqueros, pero a la vez con la fuerza del metal que por alguna extraño
motivo me recuerda a therapy?, aunque tampoco se parecen a estos, lo que deja
claro que The Temple suenan a The Temple
Sin duda lo mas destacable, aparte de su sorprendente edición cd + dvd, son las
melodías que mete Joao, que convierten los temas en auténticos himnos, sino
escuchar el single millionaire, Belcebú o Bankrupt...
Aparte de eso una cosa que le da muchos puntos a la banda es la gran diversidad
del disco, ya que va desde los temas del estilo antes comentado, la rarísima
drums llena de percusiones, la lentísima falling, ….
La conclusión creo que esta mas que clara, un disco realmente bueno que
recomiendo que pilléis directamente a su sello Raging Planet para pillar la
edición especial, ya que esa edición solo sale en Portugal. -

Realmente o trabalho que este quinteto de Lisboa demonstra neste CD é FODA !
Com o CD Diesel Dog Sound o The Temple demonstra uma cara nova ao New Metal, com
um pé no Indie e o velho e bom Rock and Roll, o The Temple mescla bem os estilos
sem se preocupar muito com o peso clichê do New Metal em sua afinação. É notável
influências de bandas como Deftones, Helmet e Fuel em suas músicas, tudo isso
misturado a uma boa dose de originalidade e energia ! Destaque para a produção e

Entombed und Moonspell mussten die Portugiesen bis jetzt auf ihre erste

das unverständlich, denn auf diesem in London aufgenommenen Album präsentiert
sich eine erstklassige Band, die modernen Metal mit einer immer wieder
durchbrechenden Punk-Attitüde spielt und mit ´Millionaire´, ´22 Belzebu´ (das
letzte „b“ hat er wohl in der Hölle vergessen), ´DDS´, ´Fightbull´ und

Diesel Dog Sound, dos portugueses THE TEMPLE, foi gravado em Inglaterra e significa um inequívoco salto em frente na vida de uma banda conotada com o heavy metal até agora limitada a um circuito underground. A produção (qualidade do som, vídeo, site, parte gráfica) aproxima-se da perfeição e as 14 canções do disco conseguem uma frescura e uma energia raras num género que muitas vezes parece esgotado. Não está, como se prova aqui. A seu favor, aliás, joga a inteligência de estes músicos não se resumirem aos clichés do metal. Note-se, por exemplo, a eficaz utilização de um acordeão e de uma improvável guitarra portuguesa. Zé Pedro (dos Xutos), Fernando Ribeiro (dos Moonspell) e Ricardo Pereira são convidados em três faixas. Enquanto na imprensa estrangeira o disco tem recebido rasgados elogios, em Portugal parece limitado a um cantinho que não merece. Οι έμπειροι Temple δείχνουν ότι αυτό είναι τελικά το χαρακτηριστικό για να δώσεις ώθηση σε ένα νέο μουσικό είδος που δεν μπορεί να πείσει τους περισσότερους κλασικούς metalers να γυρίσουν προς το μέρος του, ή να δώσει την εντύπωση ότι μπορεί να μετεξελιχθεί σε κάτι περισσότερο μακροβιότερο μιας και το είδος αυτούσιο υπάρχει ως μία «επανάσταση διαφορετικότητας» και ως εκ τούτου έχει μικρή διάρκεια ζωής από τις προδιαγραφές του ακόμη. Οι Πορτογάλοι ρόκερς έχουν έντονη διάθεση πειραματισμού, χωρίς πίσω από αυτή τη λέξη να καιροφυλακτεί ο ανούσιος αυτοσχεδιασμός. break out of their own local scene, The Temple are probably Portugal’s next big
thing. Inking a deal with UK label Copro records (under the Hero PR sub label)
and recording in England (London’s Philia Studios) under the guidance of Dave
Chang (man, this guys produces a lot of Copro acts) is a major reason why this
band has some chance of increasing their metal profile. Listening to ‘Diesel Dog
Sound’ with its intelligent hard rock/modern metal vibe there is much to like
about this band.
‘DDS’ is a most impressive, hard driving rock/metal record. In fact, the first
seven tracks on this disc absolutely smoke. A heavy guitar production,
passionate delivery and some catchy as fuck choruses are staples of The Temples
sound – check tracks like the killer opening track ‘Millionaire’ (which has hit
written all over it) and the Metallica riff laden ‘Fightbull’ for examples of
the energy and dynamics that this band possesses (...) DDS also comes with an
excellent multimedia section with band info, lyrics and two video versions of ‘Millionaire’.

"Quem ouviu as
demos que a banda foi lançando ao longo dos anos no seu website, decerto se terá
apercebido que o som da banda amadureceu, “Diesel Dog Sound” apresenta-se agora
como o colmatar desse amadurecimento.
Talvez se tenha perdido alguma da força thrash que caracterizou o som inicial da
banda, no entanto os temas ganham agora mais profundidade. A inclusão de
guitarras portuguesas pela banda é agora cada vez mais frequente, o resultado
desta fusão é invariavelmente excelente e temas como “Paper Chains” e “Falling”
são prova disso mesmo.
No campo das mais pesadas temos musicas como “Fightbull” (com direito a critica
social), “Devil’s Lover” (com a participação de Fernando Ribeiro dos Moonspell),
“DDS” (tema curto e acelerado q.b.), ou “Soul Tatoo”, que de certeza
proporcionarão “acção” nos concertos da banda.(...) " -

d'Europa una band che ci ricorda che, in effetti, ogni nazione ha una sua scena
musicale, che "combatte" in tutti i modi il predominio americano. Gli assi della
manica di questo gruppo portoghese si chiamano personalità, professionalità,
percussioni, e... amicizie.(...)
In conclusione, quindi, quest'album va oltre le matrici hard rock o crossover
nel quale lo si potrebbe incasellare, e fornisce spesso un bel muro di riff e
chitarre, legandoli ad una ritmica compulsiva e spesso melodica. Un bel mix, che
fa ben sperare per il futuro, soprattutto se le lievi "scivolate" nello
stoner-rock e nei suoi rallentamenti potranno essere limate via." -

"Pas franchement emballée avant d' écouter le cd, je me lance finalement et là c' est la grosse claque dans la gueule!!! Dès la première chanson impossible de ne pas monter le son au max et de headbanger au riffs percutants de ce groupe venu du Portugal (eh oui y'en a pas des masses qui viennent de là bas mais c'est du bon). "Um regresso esperado. Um regresso planeado para preencher as medidas das expectativas. Os muitos fãs escamoteados no underground podem ouvir o disco que almeja satisfazer as necessidades do mainstream. A aposta é alta e os The Temple querem ganhá-la. (...) The Temple reflecte-se em "Diesel Dog Sound" como uma entidade sensível às correntes actuais da música dita pesada. Mostram-se atentos e são vulneráveis ao mundo. Tornaram-se mais agradáveis ao ouvido, sobretudo porque beneficiam de um óptimo trabalho de produção a cargo de Dave Chang. Todos os instrumentos respiram sem dificuldade. Diesel Dog Sound laat een moderne mix horen van allerlei stijlen, waarmee al snel blijkt dat dit vijftal van zo'n beetje alle markten thuis is. Heerlijke rock horen we in de titeltrack, punkrock in opener 'Millionaire' en Linkin Park-achtige nu-metal in 'Baby Hate'. Op het lichtelijk gothisch getinte 'Devil's Lover' is een gastbijdrage te vinden van Moonspells Fernando Ribeiro, terwijl op 'Falling' de afkomst van het vijftal niet verloochend wordt; door de toevoeging van een accordeon ontstaat een Portugese sfeer. Ondanks dit allegaartje aan stijlen, weet The Temple heel goed een eigen identiteit neer te zetten en bovenal over de gehele plaat gezien ook te behouden, met nummers die enorm lekker in het gehoor liggen door de sterke melodielijnen. Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, just with a tonne of more energy, clean
sound and a dirrrty southern accent.

"Portugal's The Temple show a rare diversity. From electro-punk through to thrashy-stylings, via nu-metal tinged rock, each song is an encyclopaedia of heavy music. Also, some local flavoured rhythms on tracks like 'Drum' and 'Falling' – the latter mixing accordion with heavy guitar riffs – only adds to the bizarre nature of the whole album. THE TEMPLE prepared a "Digi-Pack" for the Portuguese version. This issue will be released by RAGING PLANET and it includes a multimedia track with extra contents, a bonus track and a DVD. The presentation, held with a concert at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ LISBON, will be on the 11th of May
THE TEMPLE have signed a world-wide deal with COPRO RECORDS for all territories, except their homeland.
The three album deal
kick starts on the 19th of April with the release of the bands second opus
"DIESEL DOG SOUND". The album will also feature appearances from Fernando Ribeiro (Moonspell), Zé Pedro (Xutos & Pontapés) and Ricardo Pereira.
The band plan to tour the UK this Autumn.
